The boss of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT) is
stepping down after eighteen months at the helm. Árpád Pál will continue to
work in the financial field, but has not yet revealed his plans. His
replacement will be elected by the board of directors at the next AGM on 31

Magyar Hirlap newspaper, a
conservative mainstream national daily, recently published a
blatantly anti-Semitic opinion piece which has elicited widespread
condemnation in Hungary. Leader of the small conservative party, Ibolya David, on
Thursday condemned the article in the paper’s March 18 issue penned
by a senior contributor, Zsolt Bayer, as: “bewildering, revolting
