The ministry had expected a deficit of 219.8 billion forints for
February.
The central budget had a deficit of 250.5 billion forints, while
social security funds ended 13.7 billion forints in the black.
Separate state funds closed February with a surplus of 20.9 billion
forints.
The two-month deficit was 182.1 billion forints which
corresponds to 0.7 percent of gross domestic products (GDP).
In February 2007, Hungary had a budget deficit of 216.9 billion
forints.
The government targets a budget shortfall of 4 percent of GDP in
2008.
