Budapest, November 28 (MTI) – The motorway connecting Vienna and
Budapest was closed down about 40 kilometres from Budapest on
Wednesday night after a truck overturned and spilled a load of
bricks onto the pavement. Police reported that the spill covered the entire road surface
and they have closed the road to traffic pending cleanup. Vehicles
are being directed to secondary roads for the duration. No

Ferenc Gyurcsany and Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer, CEO of Austrian-based
fuels group OMV on Wednesday failed to trigger a breakthrough or

Budapest, November 28 (MTI) – The Hungarian Foreign Ministry
welcomes the achievements made at the Middle East conference in
Annapolis because they pave the way for an Israeli-Palestinian
accord and the establishment in 2008 of an independent, sovereign
Palestinian state that lives in peace with its neighbours, Foreign
Affairs Spokesman Lajos Szelestey said. The spokesman noted that the conference had been the first
occasion in seven years in which Israeli and Palestinian leaders and
the foreign ministers of other countries in the region had held
talks on putting an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through
negotiations and laid the foundations for comprehensive peace in the
region. The European Union, including Hungary, has contributed to
organising the Annapolis conference and is ready to continue to
promote the process of rapprochement started there, Szelestey said. Continue »
